Monday July 9th was a night that Kokolata won’t forget for a while. Veteran flat race jockey Patrick O’Leary turned up in full riding silks, to give a very entertaining and informative talk to a supportive crowd, who had turned out for this fund raising evening.
Not only did Pat wear all the riding clothes but he also brought from England his riding boots, a race saddle, whip, number cloth, lead cloth and leads. He had everyone in fits of laughter with his racing tales from over the years. Following the talk, bets were placed for a fun evening of races on video.
With money raised from the tote, raffle and entrance fee, a healthy 205 Euro was given to Claudia, the charities treasurer to be used where needed.
KATs would like to thank ex-jockey Pat O’Leary, Epsom Downs Race Course who donated the prizes, the supporters who came, and of course Donna for arranging it and providing the Aloni as the venue - thanks to all for successful fund raising event.
