Quarantine changes for animals travelling to the UK 01/12/2011

Defra have at last made the decision to bring the UK into line with the rest of the EU and quarantine for dogs and cats will cease on 1st January, 2012.

The rules will then mean that a dog or cat can enter the UK 21 days after the rabies vaccination, no blood test will be required.  The animal still needs a microchip, passport and worm treatment, this is the same as the rest of the EU.

For more detailed information on this matter go to defra website, and look at Pet Passport travel.
